The team was able to sit in the House Chamber with Governor Dan Patric and be recognized as Houston Texas&#8217; representatives for the Texas HIV\/AIDS Coalition. They were able to meet with several House Representatives to discuss five issues related to HIV: 1) House Bill 762: Opt-Out Testing; 2) Senate Bill 1283: ARV Drugs as a protected class; 3) Full funding of the Texas HIV Drug Assistance Program; 4) HB1722: Syringe Needle Exchange; and 5) HB2161: Sex Ed in Public Schools.
